In January, the Festival of Liège, tackling its times, offers acute artists' points of view on crucial issues through some innovative shows.
From February to April, our Province's carnivals, processions, burlesque excursions and Laetare sweep you into a whirl of good cheer, discovering the Cwarmé in Malmedy, the Blancs Moussis in Stavelot (mid-Lent) as well as the Rosenmontag of the Cantons of the East. In April, the legendary Liège-Bastogne-Liège and Flèche wallonne cycle races will make the hearts of champions and thousands of spectators beat faster.
In May, the 24th International Jazz Festival in Liège will bring together an impressive array of artists and internationally renowned bands through the approximately twenty concerts on offer.
In June, the "Gardens and Secret Corners" days lifts the veil on unusual and private places in the Ardent City.
In July, with the les Ardentes Festival, Liège beats to the rhythm of electro-rock music for 4 days, while the Village Gaulois offers pétanques trails and craft products amid a Provençal ambiance. With more than 250 concerts on the billing, the Francofolies de Spa are the unmissable meet-up dedicated to the artists French chanson. Between the Spa Theatre Festival, the 15 August festivities, the Walking Festival in Liège, the Formula 1 Grand Prix, the Fêtes de Wallonie and the Heritage Days, the months of August and September abound with popular festivities and gatherings in all genres.
In October, the Night on the Slopes of the Citadel with its illumination plunges the Ardent City into a fairytale ambiance, while the carousels of the October Fair bring out the child in Liège residents. In 2015, the triennial RECIPROCITY design Liège intends to position our Province as the hub of Walloon design.
In November, International Show Jumping in Liège sees Belgian and international riders compete for 6 days.
And finally, in December, the Liège Christmas Village – Belgium's biggest – imbues the city with a magical and convivial ambiance.
